A Cross-Border Story: From U.S. Industry to Desert Winemaking

What happens when industrial discipline meets desert soil?

After studying and working in the United States, Uriel Vásquez made an unexpected decision: return to northern Mexico and start a vineyard from scratch in one of the least expected places — Casas Grandes, Chihuahua.

But near the ancient ruins of Paquimé.

Viñedos La Turbina was founded with a long-term vision: apply operational excellence, engineering precision, and cross-border perspective to build a serious wine project in the desert.

This story explores resilience, reverse migration entrepreneurship, and the bold decision to create opportunity where none seemed obvious.

Dry desert climate.

These conditions create wines with structure, concentration, and character.

Viñedos La Turbina is part of a growing movement positioning Chihuahua as a serious wine-producing state, offering authenticity, small-batch production, and direct connection between producer and visitor.

This is frontier winemaking — driven by climate, innovation, and identity.
